A  short game developed for the 1-Bit Game Jam.

Escape this ominous building before the malevolent force lurking within claims you as its own.

As you travel through the eerie corridors, remember that light is your ally. Stay within its reach to thwart the sinister presence that hunts you. But beware, for the darkness is not to be underestimated – an ancient evil lies concealed within its depths, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.

Will you muster the courage to overcome your fear, evade the lurking evil, and find your way out, or will the shadows claim yet another lost soul?

Made with Godot 4.1.1

notes:

Web build unavailable due to lack of shadows, necessary for the game mechanics, when exporting for web with Godot 4

This was a really solid experience! The only real thing I can complain about is the length; I would've loved to have seen more levels and tricks to take advantage of the light mechanic. The death animation might also be a touch too long.

I'd really recommend continuing development on this, since the core gameplay is simple but fun and the art direction is really good.

I guess trying to make it short to not overscope ended up with me "underscoping". I had more in mind but didnt wanted to push my luck with being able to finish in time for the Jam deadline. :P
